I'm interested in kayaking, how do I start?:  the KWA offers access to demo gear, monthly lake sessions, and winter pool sessions. Lake and pool sessions are a great and safe way to practice the art of boating.

But I don't have any gear:  No gear, no problem, the KWA has gear that is available to you to try out our many lake and pool sessions. If lake and pool sessions don't work for you, email us at  info@kansaswhitewater.org and we will work something out.

Do you offer classes?:  No, at this time we are not offering classes. We are working on our instruction certifications and we hope to be offering classes in the spring.

How much does lake and pool session cost?:  Pool sessions cost $7.00 per session which is charged by the YMCA. There is a $10 charge for gear rental. Shawnee Mission Park also requires a boat permit which can be obtained at the boat house at the marina.

When are pool and lake sessions?:  Pool sessions run from October thru April,   Lake sessions are twice a month on a Wednesday night or on weekends. Watch the message board for details.

How do I become a member?:  Membership information and applications can be downloaded at http://www.kansaswhitewater.org/membership.shtml
