News Update April 17th: The KWA is making great progress on the Wakarusa Trail and is nearing completion. The US Army Corps of Engineers will be dumping one more load of AB3 gravel for us to use as the final topping and to help control some of the erosion that happened during the last round of storms. So far the US ACoE is very happy with our progress and looks to be willing to start negotiations on Phase II of the Wakarusa Wave Park Project. More info at www.kansaswhitewater.org/projects/

News Update March 8th: Local KCKA paddler answers the call for help on Clinton Lake. Mike O'Connor's peaceful Sunday afternoon of kayaking at Clinton Lake came to an abrupt halt when he heard someone calling for help. Read the full story here:
http://www.ljworld.com/section/citynews/story/198275

Mike will also be interviewed on KMBC's 10PM news last night.

Mike recently took the intermediate Kayak Chapter Workshop at KSU hosted by the KCKA where he was introduced to several rescue techniques, including the one he used. Mike is a good example of why everyone should take at least a basic rescue class and know how to handle situations that might arise.

News Update January 14th: The KWA is has acquired a nice Dagger Centrifuge as the newest club boat to go along with our Prijon Hurricane. More information about checking out club boats, and boat details in the member section of our site.

Special thanks to Kevin Gilbert for the donation.
