Wichita restrictions

Post by jimmy j » Tue Jun 05, 2007 9:52 am

The city has asked us to pass the word on restrictions around the new Keeper of the Plains Plaza in downtown Wichita. There are large rocks in the Arkansas river that shoot large gas flames (no kidding). The city has installed electric eyes that shut off the gas if someone get close.
They have cited a ordinance that states you must stay 50 away from this area.
Please heed this request. the area has little interest to our paddlers and we do not want to stir up the parks people as they support us on other issues.
The ordinance applies only to the area between the Seneca bridge and the First Street bridge.
You can paddle in the area but please stay 50 away from the FLAMING ROCKS.... I guess it might melt your boat.
