Because of the Kansas Ironman 70.3 Triathlon, scheduled for June 4th-6th at Clinton State Park, the KCKA Spring 2010 Rendezvous has been moved to Perry Lake.

June 4-6, 2010
Slough Creek Park (Bur Oak Loop) Perry Lake
Sites: East side of the campground- nearest to the lake- sites 17, 20, 21, 23, 24 if you wish to be camped near other KCKA members.
The KCKA will not have any of these sites reserved. Reservations should be made by the KCKA member.
We recommend that you reserve a campsite in advance. This is the family camping season and Slough Creek Park is a popular area.

Activities:
Friday: Arrive, setup camp, socialize or paddle.
Saturday: Two paddling options:
Kansas River Float- Lecompton to Lawrence. Meet at the Lecompton put-in (north side of the bridge) at 9:00 to run shuttle and be on the river by 10:00.
Or
Paddle the lake- specifics to be decided later.
Saturday evening: 6:00 - Potluck supper. KCKA will provide barbeque and buns, paper plates, utensils and beverages. Members should contribute a side dish, salad, dessert, etc.
Saturday evening: 7:00 - Board Meeting
Sunday morning: Lake paddling- specifics to be decided later.
Optional hiking opportunity: The Thunder Ridge Trail, a 2.5 mile interpretive trail is located in Slough Creek Park, very close to the campground.

Directions:
From Perry on Hwy 24 take Ferguson Rd / 1029 north/northwest for 6.3 miles. Turn south onto Slough Creek Rd. After ~1.7 miles the entrance to Slough Creek Park will be on east side. The Bur Oak loop is the first loop down the hill from the gate.
