Hello KWA. My interest is in lake kayaking and canoeing. At 52 y/o and have had several body parts injured over the years, I'm not in good enough shape for challenging whitewater. Yet. So I am getting workouts and experience canoeing on the lake. Great fun and feels good. Compliments bicycling well. I have the plans and materials for an 18.5 cedar/glass boat and am checking for anyone who has built a stripper. This is not a boat to take a lot of hull impact but gentle river straight line is ok. Also interested in lake paddling and learning safety and techniques from experienced paddlers willing to help keep my head above the water and boat upright. May be willing to get on some whitewater when I can prove to myself I am in good enough condition but that would probably be another year out. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks. Dave Any longboaters out there?

Welcome to the KWA, Dave! Where in Ks do you live? I mainly fish from my kayak on lakes and the missouri river. I have a liquid logic manta ray 14, a cobra expedition (18'), and a 19' grumman canoe. I haven't built a boat but can put you in touch with someone that has. email me at medic303@yahoo.com

Thanks for the reply. I live near Wichita. The Expedition is a kayak I considered buying before I bought the plans and cedar. I'll e-mail you.
