Saturday, September 2, 2006. [Day Trip] Kansas River, Lecompton to Lawrence- about 10 river miles.

Meet at Lecompton at 9:00. Shuttle vehicles. We should be on the river by 10:00. Bring drinks, snacks, sunscreen, etc. Contact Don Varnau dvarnau[at]swbell.net or 785-841-1627 (afternoon/evening- no later than 8 PM, please)

I will be there and hopefully with Janie. Will have trailer if someone needs a lift.

OK, I don’t believe there is any danger now of having to hike the river bed on foot from Lecompton to Lawrence. I guess the real question now is how many of those round wooden alligators we are going to encounter. :lol:
When I hoped for rain I really did not mean to be taken this seriously.
You're right Don, this is definitely Kansas!!!

Well, 6000 cfs, as of Sunday afternoon, is a fair amount of water. :roll: We'll keep an eye on the flow this week.

It will drop. The question is how fast.
