Scary situation on the pass

Post by bwbwetarnp&co » Fri Jul 07, 2006 10:41 am

Just got back from Jackson Wy with one mishap along the way. Just north of Rawlings in the wind river pass our canoe and kayak trailer got completely blown on side by the wind. Wind speeds were enough that I could not even open the driver side door to get out. Luckily I had slowed down to below 40 MPH after I saw it take one dip to the right. Just so happened that a good Samaritan with a low boy trailer was traveling along and saw what had happened. Got a ride for my boats up 100 miles to Lander. Just lucky. Trailer took the brunt of the force with bent horizontal bars and a hitch that had to be replaced.
